What to expect when converting PDF tables to Excel
PDF to Excel conversion is most useful when a document contains tabular data you need to sort, filter, or calculate with, such as financial statements, price lists, or exported reports. The converter attempts to detect table boundaries and reproduce rows and columns as actual spreadsheet cells rather than plain text.
Accuracy depends heavily on how the original table was built: clean, well-aligned tables convert cleanly, while tables with merged cells, unusual spacing, or scanned images may need manual cleanup afterward. Note that the converter extracts values and layout, but any calculated fields in the PDF are exported as static numbers rather than live Excel formulas, since formulas do not exist in the source PDF.

No, a PDF only contains the final calculated values, not formulas, so the converted Excel file will contain those numbers as static values rather than live calculations.
Does this work on scanned PDF tables?+
Scanned tables are images and need optical character recognition to detect rows and columns, so results are less reliable than with a text-based PDF and depend on scan quality.
Can it convert a PDF with multiple separate tables per page?+
Yes, the tool attempts to detect each distinct table on a page and place it into the spreadsheet, though very closely spaced tables may occasionally be merged and need a quick manual split.
What happens to text outside of tables in my PDF?+
Non-tabular text such as titles or paragraphs is typically included in the output as well, but the main focus of the conversion is accurately reconstructing tabular data.
Will merged cells in the original PDF table convert correctly?+
